The corner

The same wooden-balconied corner building, photographed twice. Move between the frames and the difference is entirely in the ground floor.

The same corner building photographed later, its ground floor occupied by bank and phone-brand shopfronts.

The premise

Two photographs of one corner. The timber balconies, the bracket carving and the roofline are the constant; the signage, the shop fronts and the traffic are not. Reading the pair is a way of asking which parts of a street actually change.

What the pair shows

The upper two floors are effectively unchanged between frames: the same jharoka brackets, the same balcony screens, the same weathering pattern along the cornice. Every visible difference is at street level.

What we are not claiming

Neither photograph carries a date on its face. The comparison is offered as a comparison, not as a dated sequence, and no interval is asserted anywhere in this entry.

What is outstanding

Location, photographer credit and capture dates for both frames. Until those are recorded, this entry stays deliberately thin on caption text.
